The company VDS in Montreux near Lake Geneva in Switzerland consists of a team of experts in the field of advanced vacuum applications for die-casting machines. Using patented valves and user-friendly vacuum systems, many successful solutions in the industry have been realized in the last 30 years.

Since 2013 VDS SA is part of the Frech Group – worldwide leader in die-casting technology.

1979 – 1984

Rene Bigger

Rene Bigger works as technical manager at Ing. Hodler, the founder of Fondarex, F. Hodler & Cie in Territet and develops the first modern vacuum valves based on the patent 633208 Mecanovac together with the inventor Ing. Hodler. With Mr. Bachmann, previously director at Fondarex, Mr. Bigger founds the company VDS SA after leaving Mr. Hodler.

ProVac® Standard Valves

Immediate development of the ProVac® standard valves with lever system – worldwide novelty. The first ProVac® vacuum device is successfully installed. The ProVac® brand now stands for technical innovation and is revolutionizing vacuum high pressure die-casting.

Ultra Valves

Development of the first signal-controlled Ultra Valves EP 0936009 with pneumatic actuator – worldwide novelty.

Bush / Piston patent

The Patent EP1190790A1 for the Bush / Piston patent system is confirmed on the 12.09.2001.

Vacuum Chill Vents and the Typhoon Profile

Rene Bigger developes succesfully the first Vacuum Chill Vents and the Typhoon Profile  – worldwide novelty.

VAMP

First vacuum device worldwide with analysis function, vacuum curve, leak test of the mould and data storage – the so-  called VAMP (Vacuum Analysing Monitoring Processor) is a worldwide novelty developed by the physicist and specialist Dr. Christophe Bagnoud.

Frech Group

VDS SA is taken over by the Oskar Frech Group and completes their product range.

ULTRA SONIC Valve

Development of the ULTRA SONIC valve – largest suction cross-section with smallest dimensions – world novelty.

New TPS control with further analysis functions such as volume measurement and an adjustable interface.
